The widow of National Basketball Association (NBA) Hall of Fame member Kobe Bryant, Vanessa Bryant, has won a lawsuit over the distribution of photos from the scene of her husband and daughter Gianna’s death.

According to NBC, the woman has reached a $28.85 million settlement in a case involving photos taken at the site of a helicopter crash.

The athlete’s widow asked the sheriff to secure the crash site so no one could take pictures of the bodies, and he responded affirmatively. However, police and rescue workers later distributed photos of the crash victims.

Kobe Bryant died Jan. 26, 2020, in a helicopter crash near Los Angeles. In addition to the basketball player, the pilot, Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and seven passengers died in the crash.
